About this course
The second half of the Basic System block. It covers digestion from mouth to anus, the respiratory tract, and the male and female reproductive systems — together with the conditions an MPO will hear named daily in gastro, respiratory and women's-health practice.
Who this course is for
RNL-66 and RPL induction batches, following the Cardiovascular module.
What you will be able to do
- Name the digestive organs and the accessory organs
- Explain peristalsis, acid secretion and absorption
- Describe the anatomy of the stomach and intestine
- Identify the parts of the respiratory tract
- Outline the male and female reproductive anatomy
- Recognise the common diseases of all three systems

Assessment
Written paper — 30 marks in 30 minutes: label the diagram, expand four abbreviations, fill in the blanks, and multiple choice on acid secretion, the small intestine and middle-ear inflammation.
Delivery
Classroom sessions run 09:00–13:00 and 14:00–17:30, Saturday to Thursday, at Radiant's L&D centre. All lesson material is also available here for revision.
